Welcome to the new Litchfield County 4-H website. We are still working on the content and we appreciate your input.
4-H is a
unique and dynamic educational program for youth 7-19 years old. 4-H
is the youth development of the Cooperative Extension Service. Youth
develop confidence and life skills while participating in activities and events. 4-Hers
are active in project work and club membership while strengthening live skills
including leadership and citizenship.
Young people
participate in 4-H through community clubs, as Independent members, through
summer and after school 4-H camps. Life skills learned in 4-H enable
youth to become productive and responsive adults with the ability to make good
decisions.
4-H is open
to all youth 7-18 years old as of January 1st. Today, 4-H projects are
as diverse as the interests of the youth, including but not limited to, computers,
plant science, community service, health and nutrition, animal science and
international opportunities. There is no charge to join 4-H and it reaches
youth in all communities from rural to suburban to inner-city.
